SUMMARY:Remembrance Runs
DESCRIPTION:Come and join us for the Essex Remembrance Run\, in support of The Felix Fund. Join ATW for our Remembrance Runs at The Carver Barracks\, (Formerly Debden Airfield)\, in Essex to help us to honour our fallen heroes and raise money for this fantastic military charity. Remembrance Day (informally known as Poppy Day owes to the tradition of wearing the remembrance poppy)\, has been observed in Commonwealth member states since the end of the First World War to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty. The day will consist of a half marathon\, 10km\, 5km and a 1 mile race. All races are traffic-free and use the flat and fast concrete grounds of the disused former World War 2 airfield. The event will take place on Remembrance weekend in November\, and accompanying your run we will have music on the course to motivate you.  Children under the age of eight years must have their own ticket and must be accompanied by a paying adult. This can be a ticket for any distance.

The single lap course starts and finishes in Highfield Park and runs out along the flat and tree-lined disused railway line called the Alban Way\, towards Hatfield before making a loop via Sleapshyde and returning along the Alban Way. DESCRIPTION:Monday 1st April 2024 9am\nCome join the first Basildon 10km running event in the beautiful and picturesque surroundings of Gloucester Park. Run for fun\, run for health or run for a time on this flat and fast course. \nGeneral Entry is £24\, members of England Athletics can benefit from a 10% discount. To qualify for this discount\, members will need to select the appropriate purchase option and then provide their membership number in the ‘additional comments’ section whilst in the checkout. Without a valid membership number your entry will not be valid for the race.  \nBurn off those chocolate Easter eggs whilst running alongside the luscious lakes and ponds of the park.\nRunHappyRunHealthy are working alongside Great Ormond Street to create fun races across the South-East that give runners an opportunity to enjoy their running\, keep fit and stay healthy whilst helping the lives of young children in hospital care.\nRoute for the event : \nStarting inside the running track with one lap and then heading out right into the park\, you will be pleased to hear we avoid any monstrous hills !! Between the first and second kilometre the run follows a grass and then gravel trail around the furthest pond in the park. The run then stays on a footpath which hugs the perimeter of the park and heads towards the newest water feature (3km) before heading up in the direction of Basildon Sporting Village. Through an underpass and along the path (4km) parallel to Upper Mayne road the run then re-enters Gloucester Park over a bridge. Turning left back into the park and a small loop back up to the corner for 5km before heading right past the sports centre and right again to 6km. Back along the grass and gravel trail this time looping to the long path next to the lake. At the end of the lake runners turn left and follow the path around the head of the lake before coming back towards the sports centre for the final time (9km) and then running back to the track for one lap to finish (10km).\nOn the day: \n• Race numbers are to be collected track side the registration desks will have volunteers to give out race numbers (which will be in first name alphabetical order)\n• Safety pins for number attachment are available on the day\n• The sporting village has toilets and an area for changing and leaving bags etc.\n• The race will start at 9:00am\n• There will be marshals at all major junctions\n• There will be a water station at 5km available\n• All finishers are to receive a bespoke vibrant medal\, a snack\, and water.\n• Prizes for male and female 1st\, 2nd and 3rd runners\n• Photos and videos will be taken around the course. SUMMARY:Easter Challenge 2024 - 5K\, 10K\, half\, full and ultra
DESCRIPTION:You can run as much or little as you want to\, you can rest between laps if you like and head out for some more. You may be completing your first official 5k\,10k\, Half Marathon\, Full Marathon or even ultra-Marathon\, or it may be your 100th or 1000th. This race is also ideal for those who want to try and achieve a Marathon distance and for those who also want the option to push a little further\, possibly an ultra but without the complications of trail ultras\, with next to no navigation\, no kit required\, an aid station every lap and straightforward logistics. We will be utilising the Denham Flats route (road route) which is a 6.55 mile out and back sociable loop. On this course you leave the centre and go out through the Barrow Village towards Denham. At around 3km you will see Ely Cathedral in the distance. This is a super easy course to navigate

SUMMARY:Bedford Half Marathon & 10k
DESCRIPTION:This chip timed event is a sure-fire guarantee to give you the best chance of a PB in the Half-Marathon or 10K. The one lap 10k course starts and finishes on the beautiful Bedford Embankment and runs out alongside the flat\, tree lined river Ouse. After heading out towards Priory Park and a lap of the beautiful Priory Lake you’ll return to the Embankment over the Town Bridge and hearing the cheers of the crowds at the finish line. Those tackling the Half Marathon will head back out for a second-lap with a slight extension to make up the accurate 21.1km (13.1 mile) Half Marathon distance. The course will have both kilometre markers for the 10k and mile markers for the Half Marathon. The whole route is on traffic-free tarmac or firm paths and with less than 50m of elevation across the 10k\, and 100m across the Half Marathon its bound to be a PB buster! This event is more than just a run. You’ll be warmed up with personal trainers\, welcomed home by a professional commentator and your cheer-squad will be kept fed and watered by quality caterers while you run. A FREE Children’s Fun Run will also take place before the race start (no need to book\, just turn up to registration\, and you’re welcome to use it as a warm-up for the main event!)

DESCRIPTION:Join us for the return to The Flitch Way at Rayne in 2023 for the anniversary of our very first H&T event six years ago! FIVE entry options for this event in 2023. In addition to the marathon and 6hr timed event\, we have a 5km\, 10km and Half Marathon option for you. One loop of 5km is all you need to be a finisher and earn that bespoke H&T medal and goody bag!  \nThere is a new route update – you can choose which way you want to run after every loop of 5km! We will have two courses marked out for 5km loops in either direction! You can run the same loop only or run them alternately and make it a 10km loop with and aid station at 5km every time. \nNot been able to get to a race when the medal was too much bling to miss? Here is your chance to choose the medal that you have your eye on from one of our previous events.  \nThere are two difficult decisions at this event\, which way to go next\, and which medal to choose from a selection of our bespoke medals!\nYou can expect a supercharged aid station with all the usual H&T trimmings at the end of every 5km loop. \nStretching for 15 miles through the Essex countryside between Braintree and Bishops Stortford is The Flitch Way. It is the site of the original Bishops Stortford to Braintree Branch line\, a single-track railway\, and was opened in 1869 and finally closed in 1969. Nowadays it is an important place for wildlife\, and a perfect place for your next running achievement\, whatever your chosen distance! \nMostly up or down\, and sometimes almost flat\, traffic-free\, out and back course on the hard-packed trail.. The loops will be 5.3km in distance and so you will need to do 2 for a 10km\, 4 for a half marathon\, 8 laps to cover full marathon distance\, and then if you choose to continue in the 6hr event\, the clock will be your only limiting factor!

DESCRIPTION:The Flitch Way NYE events are a pretty out and back series of events over 3 distances mostly along an old disused railway line\, a great way to see out the old year. The course is flat and good underfoot for the most part and treelined so sheltered in bad weather. Great checkpoints and support with a great medal and T-Shirt. \nDecember 31st – 9am start \nTimings\nRegistration will be open at 7:30am and will end at 8:30am. Numbers will be collected at registration. \nWe will not be sending out anything in advance of the race apart from a reminder email a few days before the event. \nThe race will start at 9am for all distances \nThe Marathon cut off is 7 hours\, time to finish the race is 4pm. \nThe Half Marathon cut-off time is 3.5 hours\, time to finish the race is 12:30pm. \nThe 10k has a 2 hour cutoff so you must be finished by 11am. \nThe cut off times are strict but very generous..
