SUMMARY:Bedford Half Marathon & 10k
DESCRIPTION:This chip timed event is a sure-fire guarantee to give you the best chance of a PB in the Half-Marathon or 10K. The one lap 10k course starts and finishes on the beautiful Bedford Embankment and runs out alongside the flat\, tree lined river Ouse. After heading out towards Priory Park and a lap of the beautiful Priory Lake you’ll return to the Embankment over the Town Bridge and hearing the cheers of the crowds at the finish line. Those tackling the Half Marathon will head back out for a second-lap with a slight extension to make up the accurate 21.1km (13.1 mile) Half Marathon distance. The course will have both kilometre markers for the 10k and mile markers for the Half Marathon. The whole route is on traffic-free tarmac or firm paths and with less than 50m of elevation across the 10k\, and 100m across the Half Marathon its bound to be a PB buster! This event is more than just a run. You’ll be warmed up with personal trainers\, welcomed home by a professional commentator and your cheer-squad will be kept fed and watered by quality caterers while you run. A FREE Children’s Fun Run will also take place before the race start (no need to book\, just turn up to registration\, and you’re welcome to use it as a warm-up for the main event!)

DESCRIPTION:Join us for the return to The Flitch Way at Rayne in 2023 for the anniversary of our very first H&T event six years ago! FIVE entry options for this event in 2023. In addition to the marathon and 6hr timed event\, we have a 5km\, 10km and Half Marathon option for you. One loop of 5km is all you need to be a finisher and earn that bespoke H&T medal and goody bag!  \nThere is a new route update – you can choose which way you want to run after every loop of 5km! We will have two courses marked out for 5km loops in either direction! You can run the same loop only or run them alternately and make it a 10km loop with and aid station at 5km every time. \nNot been able to get to a race when the medal was too much bling to miss? Here is your chance to choose the medal that you have your eye on from one of our previous events.  \nThere are two difficult decisions at this event\, which way to go next\, and which medal to choose from a selection of our bespoke medals!\nYou can expect a supercharged aid station with all the usual H&T trimmings at the end of every 5km loop. \nStretching for 15 miles through the Essex countryside between Braintree and Bishops Stortford is The Flitch Way. It is the site of the original Bishops Stortford to Braintree Branch line\, a single-track railway\, and was opened in 1869 and finally closed in 1969. Nowadays it is an important place for wildlife\, and a perfect place for your next running achievement\, whatever your chosen distance! \nMostly up or down\, and sometimes almost flat\, traffic-free\, out and back course on the hard-packed trail.. The loops will be 5.3km in distance and so you will need to do 2 for a 10km\, 4 for a half marathon\, 8 laps to cover full marathon distance\, and then if you choose to continue in the 6hr event\, the clock will be your only limiting factor!

DESCRIPTION:The Flitch Way NYE events are a pretty out and back series of events over 3 distances mostly along an old disused railway line\, a great way to see out the old year. The course is flat and good underfoot for the most part and treelined so sheltered in bad weather. Great checkpoints and support with a great medal and T-Shirt. \nDecember 31st – 9am start \nTimings\nRegistration will be open at 7:30am and will end at 8:30am. Numbers will be collected at registration. \nWe will not be sending out anything in advance of the race apart from a reminder email a few days before the event. \nThe race will start at 9am for all distances \nThe Marathon cut off is 7 hours\, time to finish the race is 4pm. \nThe Half Marathon cut-off time is 3.5 hours\, time to finish the race is 12:30pm. \nThe 10k has a 2 hour cutoff so you must be finished by 11am. \nThe cut off times are strict but very generous..

SUMMARY:Abington Festival of Running 10km road race
DESCRIPTION:Sunday 1st October\, 2023 \nAbington is a small village just south of Cambridge which has held a 10km race each year since 2006.  Our course starts and finishes in Granta Park\, a research centre and the fast\, flat route takes the runners through the village. The race is organised by the primary school PTFA and licensed by UK Athletics. Last year we held a Festival of Running with a 5km course to supplement the established 2km children’s course.  \nThis year to commemorate our 18th coming of age we are adding a “Running Clubs” trophy to our event. We would like to invite the local running clubs to compete for The Abington Festival of Running 10K Club Cup. The rules are very simple: the first four runners regardless of age or sex will count towards the results. DESCRIPTION:After 3 years without an event\, 18th June 2023 is the date for the 6th Steeple Bumpstead 10km and 3km trail races. This event is run entirely for charity by the Steeple Chasers Running Club and we have distributed more than £14\,500 over the last 8 years\, mostly to local charities.  Please join us again and make it another sell-out year as it was in 2019 \n10km Race (16+ years old) \nOnline entry:  £16 until midnight 11th June 2023\nOn-the-day entry:  £18\n£2 discount for UKA or ARC affiliated runners (online and on-the-day).\nMale and female categories with two age groups\, 16-39 and 40+. SUMMARY:Boxted 10k\, 5k and 2k Fun Run
DESCRIPTION:Boxted is a village and civil parish in the north east of Essex\, England approximately 6 miles north of Colchester – close to junction 28 on the A12. The village comprises pockets of residential areas surrounded by mainly arable farmland. The River Stour flows through the village and delineates the boundary between Essex and Suffolk. Old Boxted falls within Dedham Vale\, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village boasts a church\, a primary school\, a social club\, village hall\, sports pavilion and vineyard. Within the community there is a keen equine interest. \nAll of the courses are undulating out and back\, 60% on country roads around Boxted incorporating sections on country tracks and paths around the course.  There will be marshals positioned at all road junctions and key points around the course. Please obey their instructions at all times. There will be water stations on the 5k and 10k Course and at the end of all races. SUMMARY:Hatfield Broad Oak 10k
DESCRIPTION:Now in its 36th year\, the HBO 10K has grown to be one of the largest and most popular road races in the South East\, attracting 1500 runners nationwide. Held in the medieval village of Hatfield Broad Oak near Bishop’s Stortford and organised by the local school PTA the race is held on country roads which are fully closed to traffic which gives the race a very special atmosphere as residents and spectators gather to cheer you on as you loop through the village in a figure of eight eventually finishing on the beautiful village green in the heart of the village. DESCRIPTION:On Sunday 15th May 2022 you will have the unique chance to run the Colchester Stampede 10k at Colchester Zoo. The event\, which supports the charity Action for the Wild\, will run through the Zoo for 1k before heading out onto the closed roads before finishing back inside the Zoo.\nColchester Zoo is home to over 260 species and set in 60 acres of parkland and lakes. SUMMARY:Bromley 10k
DESCRIPTION:2023 will see the Seventh running of the Harwich Runners Bromley 10k\, with profits from this event going to local charities. The new course has great PB potential\, with 4 of the all time top 10 times being set in 2021 and a sub 30 minute course record. The race itself comprises a single fully marshalled anti-clockwise lap of a road course through the Essex countryside. \nFor 2023 we are again offering an optional donation to plant trees/hedge plants that will be along the course in an attempt to increase habitat and ecological diversity in an arable area. To complete this we need to buy 725 trees. \nEntry limit has been increased to 750 Runners\, but please enter early as we expect to sell out & entry on the day is unlikely. Wheelchair entries are welcomed and will be given a short head start to ensure a clear run. Cost is £10.00\, unaffiliated runners £12.00. Price includes chip timed race results\, prizes\, distance markers on a marshaled race route with a water station.

DESCRIPTION:The Cambridge Cambourne 10k appeals to runners of all levels: from new runners to the more experienced. The distance is long enough to be challenging\, but short enough to be accessible to anyone with the determination to put in a bit of training. \nIts sister event\, the Cambridge Cambourne Fun Run\, is ideal for younger runners or those not ready for the longer distance. \nCompetitors from outside the local area can take this opportunity to have a first-class run in great scenery in the morning and take time out to visit the beautiful\, historic City of Cambridge in the afternoon. \nThe event takes place mostly on the trails around Cambourne and welcomes all ages from 15 years upwards for the 10k\, and from 5 years (with adult accompaniment) for the Fun Run. There will be water stations at 5k and at the finish. \nAccurate chip-timing\, medals for all finishers and prizes for the fastest runners are on offer. \nThe event will support the local community through charitable donations.

SUMMARY:Camu10kunum 10k trail run
DESCRIPTION:COMPANY OF RUNNERS cordially invite you to join us for the Camu10kunum. Your challenge should you choose to accept it\, is to self-navigate on a 10k section of the Camuplodunum marathon course. \nColchester was known as Camulodunum in Roman times. Derek Keeble conceived the Camuplodunum in 1974 as a 25-mile walk encircling the town. We’re holding the Camuplodunum Marathon on 1 April so we decided to stage a supplementary 10k race that same day. This will follow the first three miles of the marathon route\, then circle round and return: so nearly an out and back course. It will take in a little of the Essex Way\, pass through beautiful woods and scenery. It is mostly a trail route\, so be prepared for muddy paths. \nThere will be no checkpoints. However\, you will pass the Co-op in West Bergholt halfway should you need to purchase refreshments. \nThe cut-off is three hours\, to allow walkers to join us. Participants should be comfortable with following navigation instructions\, GPS files or by reading maps – this course is not marshaled nor does it have tape/arrows to show the way. It is easy to follow the directions\, however you will be given the Race Director’s phone number and if it is clear that you are very lost\, we will ask for your What 3 Words reference and come and find you!

SUMMARY:HARGRAVE CROSS COUNTRY 10k & 5k FUN RUN
DESCRIPTION:We’re back with our muddy run and walk through the gently undulating countryside round Hargrave\, nr Bury IP29 5HH\, on 25th March at 2.30pm\, with a delicious village tea at the finish. The 5k & 10k course start and finish together\, both are single laps\, the 10k route goes further round the countryside. There is a course map in the pictures. All runners who finish get a banana and voucher for free (legendary) tea and cake in the village hall! Its a very friendly relaxed event\, minimum age 7\, last year’s winners were both 10! Dogs on leads welcome. \nIsolation in a rural village like Hargrave is hidden\, we have no pub or shop\, most people work go to work elsewhere\, children go to different schools and there is no means of getting about if you can’t drive. How do you meet your neighbours? How do you make friends with others in the village? \nRestoring the church has been a journey for all of us which brings us together\, whether we have faith or none.The condition of the church building is a solid manifestation of the goodwill\, the support\, hard work and most of all fun we’ve had. We have built up from 4 services a year in 2005 to two a month\, as well as Easter\, Remembrance and Christmas. Many have contributed to regular cleaning and flowers\, even though not necessarily coming to the services. \nWe have run Messy Church and Youth groups in the village hall\, bringing together both parents and young who had not met before. The village hall is also used for special services when needed\, such as Remembrance\, reflecting the need for easier access for some. We give thanks for our restoration so far\, and the people we remember who have helped. We pray to strengthen our faith and resolve to face future challenges by bringing Hargrave together around this modest\, but thousand-year-old\, church of St Edmund. \nBy entering this run or walk you are helping us continue to serve our little village of Hargrave\, thank you.
