SUMMARY:St Albans Half Marathon #icelollyrun
DESCRIPTION:A community focused event\, ATW St Albans Half Marathon (a.k.a #icelollyrun) aims to raise money for local charities and organisations as well as put on a great day out for all the family\, delivered by runners for runners. Those looking for a challenge can take on the scenic Half Marathon or Walking Half\, which takes you on a challenging but rewarding closed-road route through the country lanes of St Albans. Our 5K is open to everyone over 11 and takes you on a route around Verulamium Park. You’ll still experience the great atmosphere we are famous for\, and help to support local charities and organisations! The Family Fun Run is open to all ages however children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult with their own ticket. Please note the Family Fun Run is not chip-timed. \nThe Half Marathon & Wheelchair Course \nThe ATW St Albans Half Marathon will take you through the stunning country lanes of St Albans.  Although you may come across a hill or two\, the view from the top makes it worthwhile. \n\nRunning entrants must be able to complete the course in 3hrs 15mins.\nWheelchair entrants must be able to complete the course in 3hrs 30mins.\n\nThe Walking Half Marathon Course \nThe ATW St Albans Half Marathon will take you through the stunning country lanes of St Albans.  Although you may come across a hill or two\, the view from the top makes it worthwhile. \n\nWalking entrants must be able to complete the course in 5hrs.\n\nThe 5K Course \nThis 5k is perfect for anyone! Whether you’re a budding athlete looking to beat your personal best or new to running and wanting to tackle a shorter distance. Participants must be able to complete the course in 55mins. \nThe Fun Run Course \nThe 1.5 Mile Fun Run is great for all the family!

SUMMARY:Boxted 10k\, 5k and 2k Fun Run
DESCRIPTION:Boxted is a village and civil parish in the north east of Essex\, England approximately 6 miles north of Colchester – close to junction 28 on the A12. The village comprises pockets of residential areas surrounded by mainly arable farmland. The River Stour flows through the village and delineates the boundary between Essex and Suffolk. Old Boxted falls within Dedham Vale\, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village boasts a church\, a primary school\, a social club\, village hall\, sports pavilion and vineyard. Within the community there is a keen equine interest. \nAll of the courses are undulating out and back\, 60% on country roads around Boxted incorporating sections on country tracks and paths around the course.  There will be marshals positioned at all road junctions and key points around the course. Please obey their instructions at all times. There will be water stations on the 5k and 10k Course and at the end of all races. Registration and Race bib collection will be from 8:00 at the School Hall\, please note registration closes 30 minutes before the race start. \n10 minutes before the race start\, make your way to the start point and line up behind the chip timing mats.\n2k race will start at 9:30am\n5k race will start at 10:30am\n10k race will start at 10:30am

DESCRIPTION:Bob French Sudbury Fun Run – Sudbury’s Annual Charity 5 Mile Fun Run – is one of the major longstanding sporting events of Sudbury Town\, and it has been taking place now in various forms since the early 1980s. Last year\, the money raised went to the British Heart Foundation and Storehouse Foodbank. This year’s charities are still to be confirmed.The 2023 Sudbury Fun Run will be on Good Friday\, April 7th\, 2023\, and online registration will open on January 27th\, 2023.

SUMMARY:Cambridge Cambourne 10k & Fun Run
DESCRIPTION:The Cambridge Cambourne 10k appeals to runners of all levels: from new runners to the more experienced. The distance is long enough to be challenging\, but short enough to be accessible to anyone with the determination to put in a bit of training. \nIts sister event\, the Cambridge Cambourne Fun Run\, is ideal for younger runners or those not ready for the longer distance. \nCompetitors from outside the local area can take this opportunity to have a first-class run in great scenery in the morning and take time out to visit the beautiful\, historic City of Cambridge in the afternoon. \nThe event takes place mostly on the trails around Cambourne and welcomes all ages from 15 years upwards for the 10k\, and from 5 years (with adult accompaniment) for the Fun Run. There will be water stations at 5k and at the finish. \nAccurate chip-timing\, medals for all finishers and prizes for the fastest runners are on offer. \nThe event will support the local community through charitable donations.

SUMMARY:HARGRAVE CROSS COUNTRY 10k & 5k FUN RUN
DESCRIPTION:We’re back with our muddy run and walk through the gently undulating countryside round Hargrave\, nr Bury IP29 5HH\, on 25th March at 2.30pm\, with a delicious village tea at the finish. The 5k & 10k course start and finish together\, both are single laps\, the 10k route goes further round the countryside. There is a course map in the pictures. All runners who finish get a banana and voucher for free (legendary) tea and cake in the village hall! Its a very friendly relaxed event\, minimum age 7\, last year’s winners were both 10! Dogs on leads welcome. \nIsolation in a rural village like Hargrave is hidden\, we have no pub or shop\, most people work go to work elsewhere\, children go to different schools and there is no means of getting about if you can’t drive. How do you meet your neighbours? How do you make friends with others in the village? \nRestoring the church has been a journey for all of us which brings us together\, whether we have faith or none.The condition of the church building is a solid manifestation of the goodwill\, the support\, hard work and most of all fun we’ve had. We have built up from 4 services a year in 2005 to two a month\, as well as Easter\, Remembrance and Christmas. Many have contributed to regular cleaning and flowers\, even though not necessarily coming to the services. \nWe have run Messy Church and Youth groups in the village hall\, bringing together both parents and young who had not met before. The village hall is also used for special services when needed\, such as Remembrance\, reflecting the need for easier access for some. We give thanks for our restoration so far\, and the people we remember who have helped. We pray to strengthen our faith and resolve to face future challenges by bringing Hargrave together around this modest\, but thousand-year-old\, church of St Edmund. \nBy entering this run or walk you are helping us continue to serve our little village of Hargrave\, thank you.
