SUMMARY:Remembrance Runs
DESCRIPTION:Come and join us for the Essex Remembrance Run\, in support of The Felix Fund. Join ATW for our Remembrance Runs at The Carver Barracks\, (Formerly Debden Airfield)\, in Essex to help us to honour our fallen heroes and raise money for this fantastic military charity. Remembrance Day (informally known as Poppy Day owes to the tradition of wearing the remembrance poppy)\, has been observed in Commonwealth member states since the end of the First World War to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty. The day will consist of a half marathon\, 10km\, 5km and a 1 mile race. All races are traffic-free and use the flat and fast concrete grounds of the disused former World War 2 airfield. The event will take place on Remembrance weekend in November\, and accompanying your run we will have music on the course to motivate you.  Children under the age of eight years must have their own ticket and must be accompanied by a paying adult. This can be a ticket for any distance.

SUMMARY:Chelmsford Marathon & Half Marathon 2024
DESCRIPTION:Join runners as they go through Central Park and into the Essex countryside in support of Havens Hospice.  The race is hugely popular among runners\, and comes highly recommended for the following reasons – great course\, great atmosphere\, enthusiastic marshals\, the event village and being well organised.  It is a major fundraising event for Havens Hospices. Entries will help support this remarkable charity and provide palliative nursing and supportive care to children\, young people and adults living with complex or incurable conditions in Essex. \nThe Marathon: This accurately measured single lap course starting and finishing in Central Park on a scenic tree-lined avenue. The course is undulating so please note there are hills. The race includes a large selection of water and aid stations located at 8 points around the course. There will be selected pacers on the course. Please note there is a cut off time of 7 hours for the event due to health and safety reasons. \nThe Half Marathon: An ‘out & back’ course. A flatter route than the full marathon\, participants will enjoy running along through Central Park and out into stunning countryside\, finishing back at Central Park.

SUMMARY:Brentwood half
DESCRIPTION:This great event in the Brentwood calendar is now in its 42nd year. Over the years the event has raised several million pounds for charity.  We were pleased that the 2023 bounced back after Covid and hope 2024 will be even better. For 2022 we decided to  set up a new organising team to  share some of the  burden and ensure the event has a future. Details of the new team can be found in the ‘Organising Team’ page.  We were delighted how this turned out and the same team will again be organising the 2024 event. We are also very pleased that our wonderful sponsor for the past few difficult years has agreed to be the key sponsor of the 2024 event. This is the local company Baker Labels\, who also trade under the name Sportstiks.  \n\n\n13.1mile Half Marathon \n\n\nChip Timing \n\n\nQuality Eco Friendly wooden medal for all finishers \n\n\nCash prizes for 1/2/3 in Half Marathon \n\n\nFree download of official event photos \n\n\nBARR Gold Standard event \n\n\nUndercover baggage facilities  * \n\n\nSport Massage facility  * \n\n\nPacemakers for 1:30\,1:40\, 1:50\, 2:00\, 2:10\, and 2:20 finish times \n\n\nExperienced organising team including Brentwood Running Club \n\n\n100% of proceeds go to local\, national and international charities \n\n\nSMS results service \n\n\nQuality commemorative t-shirts for purchase \n\n\nIdeal build-up for London Marathon \n\n\nProfessional medical support \n\n\nGently undulating but fast course through Essex countyside \n\n\nUKA Race Licence No: 2024-46733 \n\n\n         * Subject to  any Covid 19 restrictions

We will have two courses marked out for 5km loops in either direction! You can run the same loop only or run them alternately and make it a 10km loop with and aid station at 5km every time. \nNot been able to get to a race when the medal was too much bling to miss? Here is your chance to choose the medal that you have your eye on from one of our previous events. \nThere are two difficult decisions at this event\, which way to go next\, and which medal to choose from a selection of our bespoke medals!\nYou can expect a supercharged aid station with all the usual H&T trimmings at the end of every 5km loop. \nStretching for 15 miles through the Essex countryside between Braintree and Bishops Stortford is The Flitch Way. It is the site of the original Bishops Stortford to Braintree Branch line\, a single-track railway\, and was opened in 1869 and finally closed in 1969. Nowadays it is an important place for wildlife\, and a perfect place for your next running achievement\, whatever your chosen distance! \nMostly up or down\, and sometimes almost flat\, traffic-free\, out and back course on the hard-packed trail.. The loops will be 5.3km in distance and so you will need to do 2 for a 10km\, 4 for a half marathon\, 8 laps to cover full marathon distance\, and then if you choose to continue in the 6hr event\, the clock will be your only limiting factor!

SUMMARY:Hendy Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon

In 2019 in the “Let’s Do This” Challenge Awards it was voted the 5th Best Half Marathon in the South. \nIt is one of the biggest events in the UK organised by a running club and Tunbridge Wells Harriers are very proud to have hosted the event for over 30 years. Over the last 10 years\, the race has also donated around £200\,000 to charity and worthy local causes directly from race surplus. The race also donates free places to selected charities. We are hugely grateful to all of our sponsors and partners particularly this year to Hendy our sponsor for the 2024 event. Our race is organised by volunteers from Tunbridge Wells Harriers. We donate all our surplus to charity. This year we are supporting local charities in Tunbridge Wells. \nAny donations with your entry will be shared between the various charities we distribute to. Thank you very much. For your entrance fee (see FAQ below for details)\, a bespoke medal\, accurate chip timing\, and secure baggage facilities.
