Mid Essex Casuals put on two trail runs from The Swan at Rayne. Runners followed a narrative route description along country lanes, footpaths and bridleways. Both routes headed North, with the longer one taking runners as far as Shalford.
Andy Carter led the way for Halstead Road Runners, completing the 13.2 mile course in 6th place out of 59 runners/walkers in a time of 1 hour 55 minutes exactly. Don English and Mike Grealy placed 9th and 10th in 1:56:26, John Markham 15th in 2:01:33, Keith Thorogood and Andy Wilmot 42nd and 43rd in 2:27:41
In the 6.7 mile event, Wendy Carter ran well to finish 17th out of 51 competitors and 6th lady in a time of 1:02:12
On Sunday 23rd March, HRR will be hosting their own trail runs at the Recreation Club, Earls Colne from 10:00 with a choice of 8 miles or 15 miles. This event is open to all runners.

Matthew Ranson made the short trip to Gt Cornard near Sudbury for the Gt Cornard Parkrun. Matthew clocked 20:25 this week. This is part of a national 5k public running event, which take place weekly on Saturdays at 9am. The events are FREE to enter and volunteer helpers are always welcomed
