Halstead Road Runner Treena Harrington travelled to Wales’ capital Cardiff on Easter weekend and competed in the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships alongside elite runners from over 60 countries, including olympic champion Mo Farah!
Around 16,000 runners lined up on a cold, wet and windy afternoon. A downpour on the start line and a mini hurricane after around 6 miles didn’t put Treena off as she cruised round the 13.1 mile course in a new PB of 1.58:39!
Many hours of training paid off, she said “I am glad I have finally broke the 2 hour mark, I really enjoyed the race, although conditions could have been more forgiving!!”
