Halstead fielded two teams in Sunday's Essex Way Relay on Sunday. Starting at Epping Station, the 82 mile route takes in 10 stages throughout Essex to finish at the old lighthouse in Harwich. A huge congratulations to Nicole Smith on winning the 'Trevor Smith Memorial Shield' for her outstanding performance in this years Summer Handicap Series. On Friday night Karl Hillman and Treena Harrington travelled to Ipswich for the Twilight 10K. The race is held on closed roads and goes through the city centre attracting around 1500 runners. Halstead's Mel Candler and Simon Cook took on the prestigious London Triathlon on Sunday. The event attracts over 13,000 athletes including many elite. Mel competed over the sprint distance including a 750m swim, 21k bike and 5.3k run.
