Yes! It’s us, we’re back! After a bit of a break due to ‘germs’ and general chaos in the world we’re now preparing for the 5th Annual Colne Engaine 5 and 10 mile fun run! With the extra exciting children’s off road 1 mile event too! We will start, as is now tradition, on Colne Engaine Village Green and follow the course through our gorgeous leafy lanes in a figure of eight – with those undertaking 10 miles running 2 laps of the course. The end of the route is a downhill dash, finishing with sprint along Pebmarsh Road and back onto the Green to the sounds of a roaring crowd! To see the route, go to Colne Engaine 5 and 10 mile Fun Run Facebook page. Entry fee is £15. Online entries will close Saturday 2nd September 2023. Some entries may be available on the day for the adult run if we have not reached our maximum – an additional £1 per entrant will be charged. The results will be published as soon as possible after the run. There will be scrummy cakes, tea, coffee and cold drinks available at the Village Hall and there will also be the now-famous bacon butties – one for every runner, no charge, we just ask for a donation towards our local charities and community groups!
Children’s fun run: This will take place on the recreation ground and field behind the village hall and will be completely ‘off road’, following the edges of the fields (and therefore unsuitable for pushchairs). The route will be marshalled, but all childen under 8 should be accompanied by an adult. If your under 8 is quicker than you, now is the time to start your training! Entry will be on the day. There’ll be medals and prizes for all children.
