The Essex County Veterans Cross Country Championship race took place on Saturday at Writtle College. Competitors had to be 40+ to compete in the 5 mile race which was run around muddy fields. All the Women and the Mens 50+ raced first with the Mens 40+ and 45+ racing after.
There were 123 finishers in the women’s V40+. Wendy Carter came in 49th in 00:46:07, Sandi Robinson-Miller came in 67th in 00:49:12 and Treena Carder came in 78th in 00:51:16.
There were 88 finishers in the men’s V40+ race. Steve May came in 47th in 00:36:52 and Sam Wolton came in 70th in 00:43:11. There were 135 finishers in the men’s V50+ race. Alan Fancy came in 95th in 00:43:44 and Mick Purkiss came in 127th in 00:56:06.
