Ivan Filchev returned to his homeland of Bulgaria to compete in the Lionheart Triathlon on the 3rd September 2020 in Primorsko on the coast. This is an Ultra Cross triathlon consisting of a 3k sea swim, a 116k mountain bike and a 21k trail run. There is a lot of elevation and conditions were very hot and windy. Ivan had some mechanical issues with his bike but still managed to regain places and finish 3rd in his age group out of 160 competitors and 11th overall out of 600 competitors.
