Ian Chandler took on the SVP100 on Saturday. The Stour Valley Path (SVP) is a 100km (62 mile) long footpath starting in Newmarket in Suffolk and ending near Manningtree in Essex. The path is renowned for being extremely scenic.
114 runners started the race with just over 67 finishing. Chandler placed 35th overall in a time of 14 hours and 8 minutes. A fantastic achievement! He was hoping for 13 hours but sickness and cramps in the last 10 miles scuppered his plans.
Also on Saturday Bradley Doe did the Clacton parkrun finishing 2nd overall in a new pb of 18.51.
