The annual Trot event had a fantastic turnout with club members, their families and guests running and walking the 5km route around Halstead town.
Cash prizes were donated by former member Brian Brown and awarded to the three runners who came closest to their predicted times. Dan Hollinshead was the winner finishing one second slower than predicted. He was presented with the Fred Humphries trophy in honour of another former member of the club.
Phil Jeffries finished within two seconds and Chris and Steph Knight finished within six seconds. Quite an achievement when participants are banned from wearing any timing devices. Participants are encouraged to dress up and there were many festive costumes on display. Steve May was awarded best costume of the day for his ‘fancy’ dress which received many comments and toots as he made his way around the town. The club would like to thank Bob Langley for organising the events and providing the refreshments. A huge well done to all who took part especially our guest runners on the day. WITHAM BOXING DAY 5
Joby and Mandy Humm were running off their Christmas pudding by taking part in the Witham Boxing Day 5 Mile race. Impressive post Christmas Day performances from both with Mandy finishing in 39.58 and Joby finishing in 42.01.
