The Essex Championship race, the Pleshey Half Marathon took place this weekend. Conditions were warm for mid September.
Steve May was first home for Halstead in a time of 1:35:18.
Paul Hinsley came in next in 1:40:24.
Mike Grealy completed it in 1:51:02 and came 3rd in the M70 category.
John Warne finished in 2:02:50 and came 3rd in the M65 category. Both Mike and John earned themselves and Essex Championship medal for their 3rd places.
Laura Smith completed her first half marathon in 2:19:38.
Rob Frost took part in Essex Trail Events Admiral McHilly trail run. He took part in the 14.5mile race and finished in 2:13:00. He came 6th out of 70 participants.
John Warne ran in the Hare and Tortoise Outrun 24 event. This was a 24 hour event consisting of a 2.5mile lap which you could run as many laps as you liked during the 24 hours. John ran 24 laps completing 60 miles in 20:03:18.
Sarah Waddington got a PB at the Olympic Park Half Marathon finishing in 2:01:16.
Bob Langley undertook Scotlands toughest marathon, the Glencoe Mountain Marathon. He finished in 5:14:00 and was the 1st V60 male.
Halstead Road Runners entered two teams into the Essex Way Relay. This is run from Epping station to Harwich in 11 sections. The teams finished in 16th and 22nd place out of 65 participating teams.
Andy Wilmot ran the Moulton 5mile road walk finishing in 1:04:16.
