Halstead Road Runners hosted their annual Turkey Trot on Boxing Day which sees participants run or walk a 5km route, estimating their finish time and trying to complete the course as close to their predicted time as possible. Fancy dress is encouraged and participants rose to the challenge. Steve and Martha May won the Turkey Trot running the course within 11 seconds of their predicted time. Jenn Langley and James Clark won the fancy dress with a Flintstones theme.
In other running news, Gary Freear continued his run of coming third in trail runs at the Charity Christmas 12k trail run at Great Baddow. Conditions were extremely muddy. Neil Poulter came 26th and Sandi Robinson-Miller came 33rd.
Witham hosted the Boxing Day 5 race.

Andy Wilmot is undertaking 3 marathons in 3 days at Barrow. He completed day 1 in 5:11:00 which completed his 790th marathon. Day 2 was completed in 5:07:00 with day 3 still to run.
