Halstead Road Runners have been back in action over the past couple of weeks running races.

On Easter Monday, Dan Hollinshead and Steve May ran in the Easter Eggstravaganza trail run at Writtle. It was a 7.7 mile course. Dan finished in 1:03:26 coming 15th out of 147 runners. Steve finished in 1:05:42 coming 18th.

On the 11th April Will Tuson ran in the St Clares Hospice 10k finishing in 0:43:04 coming 41st out of 400 runners.

The weekend of the 17th/18th April saw a flurry of races.

Nathan Roulson completed an amazing 50k race on the South Downs. He ran it as a training run for his first 100 mile race scheduled in three weeks time.

Stephen Metson, Mike Smith and Ben Brown all took on the Essex Half Marathon at Carver Barracks in Saffron Walden. They all ran their socks off and got PB’s. Stephen finished in an amazing 1:26:44 coming 45th out of 256 competitors and breaking the sought after 1:30:00 mark. Mike finished in 1:33:04 coming 79th and Ben finished in 1:35:02 coming 87th.

Lisa Clark ran the Dave Wrights Colchester 7.5 mile race completing it in 1:12:07.

Dan Hollinshead was out on the trails again, this time at the Essex Trail Events On Your Marks, a 9 mile route starting in Marks Tey. He ran with James Clark and they finished in 1:18:21 coming 14th and 15th out of 108 runners.
Treena Carder, Phil Jeffries and Ross Kemble also ran it but due to an injury in the group sauntered round it and finished in 1:55:45.
