HRR’s men’s captain, Perry James, embarked on an epic challenge starting at 10am last Saturday. Used to taking part in running races, this was a very different race, the “Trans European race” with 180 other people. Setting off from Trafalgar Square in London, he had to get to his final destination in Tirana (Albania) within 7 days. The first checkpoint to pass through was Bruges (Belgium) with 3 other mystery checkpoints announced along the way. Just like the TV show “Race Across the World”, no planes or cars were allowed, just trains and buses.
Perry completed the challenge in 38th place out of 148 who started in London. He took 4 days, 20 hours and 3 minutes. He covered 1886 miles and visited 7 countries, taking 17 trains, 4 buses, 1 taxi and 1 ferry. What an amazing challenge Perry! We loved seeing your updates and watching it unfold on social media!
