ESSEX RELAYS– Northern Gateway, Colchester.

Each relay team consisted of three runners, with each completing three laps of the 1-mile circuit for a total of 3 miles. In the Open Men’s category, teams were made up of four runners.

SHEULTRA
The She Ultra is a 50km women-only ultramarathon held in North Wales, starting in Abersoch and finishing in Pwllheli. The event focuses on empowering women, promoting inclusivity, and supporting women’s cancer charities. Jo Roulson took on the challenge on Saturday and completed in a brilliant 9 hours and 49 minutes. Huge well done Jo.
NEWPORT MARATHON
Steve May ran the Newport Marathon on Sunday, enjoying a flat, scenic course with excellent crowd support. Despite dealing with a calf injury, Steve adapted by following a run/walk strategy—4 minutes running, 1 minute walking—for the last 14 miles. He crossed the finish line with a time of 3:44, even managing a sprint finish to beat the 3:45 pacer. It wasn’t the race he had planned,a great strategy led to a solid performance.
BOSTON UK MARATHON
The Boston UK Marathon in Lincolnshire is a flat, road race starting at Boston Market Place and finishing at Boston College. Despite facing a tough headwind, three HRR runners took on the challenge. Reece Hearn had an incredible race, finishing 31st with a time of 2:51, setting an impressive personal best by 1 minute 51 seconds. James North also put in a strong performance, earning a PB with a finish time of 3:21.06. Rachael Roughan faced a challenging run but still crossed the line in a brilliant time of 3:34.32.
CROMER MARATHON
The Cromer Marathon featured a scenic yet challenging hilly course, culminating in a finish overlooking the sea. Paul Hinsley completed the race in 4:29:20, pacing himself steadily throughout. Sam Hillyard followed closely finishing in 4:30:51, and 9th in her age category.
FANTASTIC running from HRR this weekend! Well done all!
