The Colne Valley Trail Self Navigation half and full Marathon is a challenging off road event where runners have to navigate their own way around the course. With a mixture of trails and the added challenge of finding your own route, it’s certainly not an easy race.
Alice Ablitt and Penny Clarke took on the full marathon distance on Sunday, running together they both finished in 7 hours 32 minutes. It was a tough course, and after taking a wrong turn, they ended up covering nearly 28 miles!
Despite the extra distance and challenging course, they both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was especially memorable for Alice as it was her first marathon, making the achievement even more special.
Jo Roulson took on the half marathon and finished in 3 hours 27 minutes. It was Jo’s longest distance in a year, making it a fantastic achievement and a great day out on the trails.
CHASE THE SUN 5k
Earlier in the week, Aidan Kelly took part in the Chase the Sun event at Battersea Park on Wednesday night, finishing in 22:11. A great midweek effort from Aidan!
