ESSEX CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE
7 hardy Halstead runners tackled a very challenging cross country course at Hadleigh Country Park, Essex.
It was a cold & windy morning with a bit of gentle rain thrown in to the mix. The course had some fast downhills but also long, slow, gruelling climbs to equal things out.
Over the 3.9 mile course 4 HRR ladies put in some brilliant performances.
Wendy Carter was 1st home for Halstead in 96th out the 144 ladies taking part, next home was Jessica Thompson in 106th, Emily Bentley next home in 129th with Val Kerrison not far behind in 136th.
In the men’s race there were 242 men competing.
Steve May was the 1st HRR across the line in 134th, Bob Langley was next in in 172nd with Andy Carter finishing in 212th.
