ESSEX XC LEAGUE

The penultimate round of the Essex Cross Country League took place at Hilly Fields, Colchester on Saturday. Despite the recent heavy rain the course was surprisingly dry and although cold, it was bright with light winds. The senior women’s race measured 4.5 miles and saw 130 finishers. For Halstead Road Runners Wendy Carter ran well to place 86th with Jess Thompson not far behind in 102nd. The men’s race followed but on a slightly longer course that measured 4.8 miles. Of the 223 finishers James Withams led the way for HRR placing 104th. Bob Langley was next in 170th, closely followed by Anton Nieuwoudt in 183rd and lastly Andy Carter in 200th position.
