Amazing Andy Completes his Triple 10 in 10 at Barrow

Halstead’s marathon running legend Andy Wilmot entered another very elite club on Saturday as he became one of only 4 in the UK to have completed triple 10 marathons in 10 consecutive days at Barrow, Suffolk. Saturday saw the culmination of 10 days of marathons at the Great Barrow Challenge, starting and finishing each day in Barrow near Bury St Edmunds. Heavy rain meant that the 5 testing trail routes ran twice were heavy going with conditions very wet underfoot. The 10 marathons edge Andy ever closer to the incredible number of 700 marathons completed. Speaking after Wilmot said ‘I’m pleased to have finished, it was tough going. I’m looking forward to my next marathon in a few weeks. Dan Smith joined Wilmot for 6 of the 10 days, including 4 marathons in 4 days to pass the 50 marathon milestone.
