The 33rd edition of the Paris Half Marathon, also known as the Harmonie Mutuelle Semi de Paris, took place last Sunday. The event brought together thousands of runners, with over 48,000 finishers crossing the line.
The course took in some of the most picturesque parts of Paris, including the historic Place de la Bastille. Winding through the heart of the city, the race offered a unique way to experience Paris.
Aidan Kelly was there with a Team of 12, to raise money for the Matt Ratana Rugby Foundation. The journey across didn’t go quite as planned when an unexploded World War II bomb caused major train delays, forcing the group to reroute to catch the ferry. Adding some excitement to their journey, Aidan and his team were interviewed by renowned travel journalist Simon Calder, and their story was featured in his article for The Independent travel news. Despite the travel setbacks, they made it to Paris and were ready for the race. Aidan had a great run, enjoying the race he finished in 1:45.12.
Well done to them all. So far they have raised over £580 for a very worthy cause.
