This weekend saw the ever popular Cardiff half marathon in Wales. Attracting 25,000 entrants, it is now the second largest half marathon in the UK after the Great North Run and is also the Commonwealth Championship Half Marathon. Halstead Road Runners hosted the Essex Cross Country Relays at Gosfield School last weekend. It was a large scale event with 125 full teams participating in the senior race. The main event of the weekend was the annual running of the Essex Way Relay starting in Epping and finishing in Harwich some 81 miles later.
