Another sunshine filled day, great running weather for those taking on challenges.
LAST MINUTE TRAIL FELSTED
It was the perfect morning to run a trail at Felsted with plenty of water to splash through after all the rain over the past week. There were two distances to choose from and we had 6 HRR taking on the 8.5 mile route. Out of 51 finishers, Steve May came in 4th overall in 1:10:09 with Keely Jordan very close behind taking 7th position in 1:11:32. Caroliena Cameron was 10th in 1:19:24 and Andy Carter 12th in 1:21:24. Wendy Carter and Lisa Rodbourn ran together finishing in joint 22nd place in 1:27:18. The 4 mile trail had 17 finishers. Representing Halstead were Treena Carder and Lorraine Garnham who ran together and finished joint 5th in 55:35.
DUXFORD DASH
The Duxford dash is a 10k event taking place on the runway that made history during the Second World war. Although a flat course, it does have a deceptive gradient. Sarah Waddington and Bec Gilroy were there for HRR. Both ladies had fantastic races and both got new PBs. Sarah finished in 50:02 knocking 1 minute 30 off her Hatfield Broad Oak 10k time back in May. Bec knocked 2 minutes 30 off her previous PB, crossing the line in 51:36. Well done Ladies!
MARATHON MAN
HRR’s marathon legend Andy Wilmot took on his 840th marathon on Saturday, at Barrow running centre. It consisted of 4 out and back loops and Andy completed in 5:23. He’s looking forward to another one next month.
