From the scenic, challenging Southampton Half Marathon to the iconic, fast-paced London Landmarks Half, our runners tackled both!
SOUTHAMPTON HALF MARATHON
The Southampton Half Marathon offers a challenging but scenic route, beginning in the heart of the city center. Runners pass iconic landmarks, including the Southampton Docks and St Mary’s Stadium, but the highlight is undoubtedly the run over the Itchen Bridge. This section offers breathtaking views of Southampton Waters, The Solent, and the New Forest. Aidan Kelly completed the race in 1:49:03, an impressive time on the tough, hilly course. Aidan has been supporting his daughter Brenna, on her Southampton marathon journey. Brenna was struggling for the last 6 miles. Aidan and her boyfriend Chris, walked out to mile 22 to motivate her to the finish. She crossed the line in 5:47. A huge well done to Brenna.
LONDON LANDMARKS HALF MARATHON
The London Landmarks Half Marathon provides a flatter, faster course, perfect for those looking to experience the city’s most famous sights. Starting on Pall Mall, runners pass iconic landmarks such as Big Ben, St Paul’s Cathedral, Nelson’s Column, and modern marvels like the Shard and the Gherkin. The race finishes near Downing Street, making it a memorable event. Rowan Gymer completed her first half marathon in a fantastic time of 2:22:37, marking a personal milestone and raising funds for Farleigh Hospice.
Well done to both!
