The Essex Trail Events Toppesfield 7m self navigated trail event took place on Sunday. The weather was good although a bit damp underfoot.
Steve May finished in an amazing 2nd place out of 95 competitors in a time of 0:51:49.
Ben Brown, Michael Smith and Stephen Metson ran together finishing in joint 10th place in a time of 1:01:13.
Gary Freear took a slight detour and completed it in 1:07:04.
The Hare and Tortoise Running company put on The Roman River trail events including a marathon and half marathon trail event. The course was undulating and the marathon runners had to complete two circuits of the half marathon course.
John Warne ran the marathon in a time of 5:23:37.
The half marathon saw 51 competitors take part.
Ross Kemble completed the half marathon in a time of 2:11:01 finishing 10th male (19 male competitors) and 17th overall.
Treena Carder and Phil Jeffries finished in a time of 2:27:02 placing Phil as 11th male and Treena as 12th female (32 female competitors).
