On the 9th July Nathan Roulson took on the epic Val d’Aran trail running event in the Pyrenees. This is a 105km event taking in over 21,000 feet of ascent, much of it on technical, boulder ridden terrain. Nathan finished the event in 27:36:00.

Andy Wilmot has been back out marathon running at the Suffolk Running Centre. He ran one on the 24th June in a time of 5:19:00 and then again on the 3rd July in a time of 5:15:00.

John Warne took part in the Hare and Tortoise Rayne Revival event on the 4th July. This is a 6 hour event on the Flitch Way consisting of 5.3km loops. You can run as many or as few loops as you like over the 6 hour period. John opted to do 9 laps, a total of 29.52 miles in a time of 5:40:19. He was 8th out of 83 competitors and was 4th male overall.

On the 11th July Lisa Clarke took part in the Run the Estuary 5m event which runs from Colchester to Brightlingsea along the estuary. Lisa completed it in 0:46:02 and was the 3rd female.

Nayland 10k took place on the 11th July. This was actually more like 11k and was mostly off road so was quite a challenging course. There were no official results but Anthony Denton and Paul Carter took part and completed the course.

Felsted 10k took place on the 18th July. This event is always well supported by Halstead and this year was no different despite the high temperatures on the day.

Michael Smith and Stephen Metson came in first for Halstead in a time of 0:44:08.
Perry James and Ross Kemble were next in a time of 0:53:20.

Mid Essex Casuals also ran their trail event from Earls Colne Scout Hut, Scouting Trails, in the heat of the 18th July. Gav Allen and Bob Langley took on the 13.2mile distance and Gav came first in a time of 1:48:57. Bob completed it in 2:22:02
