Yet another bank holiday and a sunny one! 19 roadrunners were out and about enjoying themselves at the weekend.
SOUTH DOWNS 50k
A 50km point to point trail race from Falmer to Eastbourne. It passes through the stunning South Downs National Park before finishing over the iconic white cliffs of Beachy Head. The route takes in over 3,500 feet of elevation gain and descent but is perfect for those trail loving, challenge seekers like our very own HRR member Keely Jordan. Although battling the heat, Keely had an exceptional run finishing in 5:13.00 beating the V40 female course record. Brilliant running Keely.
HATFIELD BROAD OAK
Now in its 36th year, the HBO 10K is held in the medieval village of Hatfield Broad Oak near Bishop’s Stortford. The race is held on country roads and runners loop through the village in a figure of eight eventually finishing on the beautiful village green in the heart of the village.
First home for Halstead, with an incredible PB of almost 2 minutes was Ben Ryder crossing the line in 36:55. All that tough training certainly paying off for Ben at the moment, well done! Well done HBO team, fantastic running from all, and thanks to Tracy for some great action photos.
RIDE LONDON
HRR love to celebrate everything active and one of our roadrunners took on ‘Ride London’ on Sunday. RideLondon is the world’s greatest festival of cycling. It gives cyclists the unique opportunity to ride 100 miles on traffic free roads though London and Essex.
