It rained all weekend! The weather was awful, but yet we still ran!
NORFOLK MARATHON
We thought Halstead was hilly!! Not compared to Norfolk! Taking place on Sunday, the Norfolk marathon was an extremely tough, hilly course but with the finish line overlooking Cromer Pier it did give runners a breathtaking view of the sea. Definitely worth it! Due to heavy rains before the event, runners were told to run with caution due to surface water and mud on the course. Regardless of the conditions, Bec Gilroy had a superb run. This was her second marathon and although she sustained an injury during her training block, she didn’t let that knock her confidence. She finished in 4:36.30 taking 5 minutes off her PB.
ESSEX TRAIL EVENTS
Treena carder and Phil Jeffries were knee deep in nature on Sunday, running Essex trail events, ‘Yet another search for bluebells’ race. An 8mile trail in some seriously wet conditions! Enjoying it, they finished in 1:32.
