What a weekend for racing! So good to see so many out enjoying their running! From 10k to marathon, Essex to French Riviera.
ATW REMEMBRANCE RUN
Kick-starting a brilliant weekend of racing were Mark Darling and Nina Symington Smith at the ATW 10K Remembrance Run at Carver Barracks.
Not only did they earn their aeroplane-shaped Strava maps, but they also both recorded great times. Mark crossed the line in 46:05, while Nina achieved a brilliant PB of 48:30.
THE FRENCH RIVIERA MARATHON
The French Riviera Marathon is held annually along the southeast coast of France, between Nice and Cannes.
Sarah Waddington enjoyed the sunshine and stunning scenery, finishing with a superb 8 minute PB in 4:38.
THE HOBBLE
Taking part in this 10 mile, self-navigating trail race was Phil Jeffries, who finished 13th out of 68 runners in 1:44:43. Great running Phil!
STEBBING 10
It was a fantastic showing from the HRR team at the Stebbing Remembrance Run.
This popular race features a gently undulating and scenic course, and observes a two-minute silence at 11 a.m. before the start.
Leading the way was Luis Betancourt Canas, finishing in an impressive 1:08:14, first home for Halstead and a fantastic personal best.
He was followed by Sam Wolton in 1:11:34 and Karen Pickering who finished 5th lady in 1:11.56.
It was Bob Langley’s second race of the weekend after cross-country on Saturday. He finished in 1:16:19, taking first place in the V70 category, a brilliant achievement.
Rachael Roughan ran 1:17:38, with Paul Hinsley just two seconds behind in 1:17:40.
Ryan Miller celebrated a new PB with 1:18:25, followed by Aidan Kelly in 1:18:58.
Next came Neil Poulter in 1:21:08, Ross Kemble in 1:22:05 and Rebecca Gilroy with a 3 minute PB of 1:22:37.
Noush Springett ran 1:29:50, followed by Mandy Humm in 1:30:45.
Brenna Kelly clocked 1:38:00, with Paul Gerrard in 1:39:30, Sam Hillyard in 1:39:53, and Emily Bentley and Jess Thompson finishing together in 1:39:57.
Gary Wiles ran 1:45:27, shortly ahead of Jody Smith in 1:45:39, while Amy Jackson finished in 1:47:11 and Jenny Smith in 1:47:12.
In quick succession over the line were Rich Turner in 1:50:26, Clare Wilson in 1:50:27 and Victoria Miller, running her first 10 mile race in 1:50:58.
John Warne finished in 1:53:38, closely followed by Elysia Anthony and Neil Addington, both recording 1:54:03.
Maryann Sycamore completed her race in 1:56:15, and coming back from injury, Alice Ablitt brought the team home with a solid 2:11:59.
What a TEAM! Well done to all!
