Phil Jeffries and John Warne ran in the Hare and Tortoises 12 hour event at Layer Marnay towers on Saturday 29th August. The race consisted of a 2.65 mile lap which could be run as many times as you wanted in the 12 hour period. Both Phil and John entered as individual runners but ran together for the majority of the event. The course was tough as a lot of it was run on rough ground and the weather deteriorated throughout the day being consistently windy but getting wetter and wilder as the day went on.
John Warne completed 18 laps, a total of 48.24 miles in a time of 11:49:35 finishing in 11th place out of a total of 48 solo runners.
Phil Jeffries completed 19 laps, a total of 50.92 miles in a time of 11:52:48 finishing in 8th place.
