Three roadrunners were keeping busy with races this weekend….while one race was closer to home and a little on the chilly side the other was slightly further afield and with a lot more sunshine!

DUBAI CREEK STRIDERS HALF MARATHON

Men’s captain Ross Kemble is currently on day 26 of his Run Every Day (RED) challenge, very impressive that he’s kept it up whilst on holiday in Dubai (not at all jealous of his sunny pics on strava!). Currently in training for Manchester marathon Ross took on the ‘Dubai Creek Striders Half Marathon’. Since its inception, the race has followed the same scenic figure-of-eight route over, under and around the iconic Dubai Creek. Ross ran extremely well and finished feeling strong in 1:51:15. Great running Ross!

COLD CHRISTMAS TO HIGH EASTER

Keely Jordan and Karen Pickering didn’t let the sub zero temperatures stop them on Sunday morning when they took on the Cold Christmas to High Easter trail race. A demanding, scenic, linear 50 km trail race from Cold Christmas, Hertfordshire to High Easter, Essex, organised by Springfield Striders Running club. Narrative instructions were supplied at registration and the route used footpaths, bridleways, tracks, and minor roads. They both ran brilliantly (getting slightly lost at mile 20) but still they took joint 2nd place for the ladies! Fantastic running.
