Another busy weekend for HRR.
HIGH EASTER 10k
HRR had 11 roadrunners at High Easter on Sunday. A flat, single lap course taking participants along the rural country lanes around High Easter, with pretty landscapes and a wonderful community vibe. Demonstrating great HRR teamwork, Stephen Metson, Karen Pickering and Mike Smith pulled each along in the last few kilometres of the race finishing within seconds of each other. Stephen Metson finished in 39:36 getting himself a new PB. Karen Pickering crossed the line in 39:42, finishing 2nd lady overall and 1st in her age category. Mike Smith suffering with a back niggle finished in 39:43. Next to finish for HRR was Gareth Dyball who has been training hard and is running well, he crossed the line in 46:18 with an 18 second PB. Aidan Kelly finished in 48:41. Simon king running for his first claim club Grange Farm, but never the less deserving a mention finished in 48:53. With some international support on hand, visitors from Norway cheering her on, Charlotte king completed the race in 52:26. It was great to see Kelly judge back in action after a long time out with injury. Getting her running mojo back she finished in a brilliant time of 54:08. Neil Addington ran well completing in 55:32. Having another great run and getting herself a massive 42 second PB was Jenny Smith who crossed the line in 57:23. Completing the HRR line up was John Warne, recovering from a cold he was pleased to finish in under an hour in 59:02. HRR ladies team came in 3rd place overall so well done to the girls.
NAYLAND 10k
A unique route, full of ancient woodland and beautiful views across the Dedham valley. Participants ran across fields and through forests and with no chip timing, it was not a race but a run to be enjoyed! Representing HRR was Noush Springett making her debut into the world of trail events. Finding it challenging in places she really enjoyed it finishing in a very impressive time of 54:20.
ASICS LONDON 10k
Flat and friendly, the route went past Westminster Bridge, The London Eye, Regent Street, Piccadilly Circus and Big Ben. Making the most of the sightseeing and plane spotting was HRR’s Katie Martin. Katie loved it, finishing in 1:12.34, she got herself a nice shiny medal at the end.
HOPE 24
Sam Wolton took part in this 24 hour endurance event in Plymouth over the weekend. Starting at 12 noon on Saturday he ran and walked an incredible 55 miles. Massive well done Sam!
Once again Team HRR absolutely smashed it.
