Leading the marathon runners away at the start was Sam Wolton, who completed his 15th Halstead Marathon in 4:30:00.
Paul Hinsley finished in 4:32:16 after already running seven miles before the race as part of training for a bigger challenge ahead, while Charlie Wilson had a good run out in 4:41:57.
For Ross Kemble, the day was focused on building mileage towards another target later in the year, finishing in 5:08:36.
It was also good to see Maryann Sycamore back out racing again, finishing in 5:23:58.
The club were proud to see Gary Wiles completing his first marathon in 5:28:40. After months of training he crossed the line smiling.
Another Halstead finish was added to the tally for Andy Wilmot, who finished in 5:35:37. Andy has now run the race almost every year for the past 30 years and has completed 871 marathons in total. A true club legend.
Bringing runners home were tail runners Bec Gilroy and Sam Hillyard, who finished in 6:48 after supporting those at the back of the field throughout the day.
Adding to the excitement of the day our first three ladies home received a much sought after, County Silver Team Medal. Well done Nina, Noush and Rachael.
Another strong showing from the club at our very own marathon.
Club Chair Hannah Whale said: “A huge thank you to everyone involved in the Halstead Marathon and in the planning of it over the past year. The event went really smoothly with lots of positive feedback from participants. The set up, HQ and clear up teams did an excellent job and everyone loved the support from marshals on course.”

“This is a big event for a small club to put on and I’m really proud of the way the club comes together as a team to achieve this – thank you! Congratulations to all Halstead runners who ran today and to Nina, Rachael, Noush for winning the ladies silver Essex champs team award.”
