Perry James headed to Slovakia’s capital Bratislava, for New Year celebrations and while away took part in the ‘
Silvestrovsky beh cez Bratislavske mosty 2024 ‘ – New Years Eve run across the Bratislava bridges 2024.
The event is a New Years Eve tradition.
Runners celebrate the end of the year with a point-to-point race along the River Danube.
The run begins at the Ekonomická univerzita (University of Economics) in the eastern part of Bratislava and ends at the Štadión FTVŠ Lanfranconi in the western part of the city.
The route is 11.7 kilometres long and very scenic.
Participants run across five enormous bridges: Prístavný most, Most Apollo, Starý most (out and back), Most SNP (out and back) and Most Lafranconi.
The conditions were tough and wintery and it was very slippy in places. It was Perry’s last run of the year and he completed it in 1:01.02.
