With temperatures remaining high across the week, Halstead Road Runners faced a challenging weekend of racing in testing summer conditions. From the fast but sweltering Springfield Striders Friday Night 5 to the scenic Caroline Coastal Trail near Maldon, our runners produced some excellent performances despite the heat.
SPRINGFIELD STRIDERS FRIDAY NIGHT 5
It was a scorching Friday evening for the Springfield Striders Friday Night 5, with the recent spell of hot weather making for tough racing conditions.
Four Halstead Road Runners took on the challenge.
Luis Betancourt Canas led the club home in an excellent 33:06.
He was followed by James North in 34:56.
Ryan Miller and Ross Kemble ran together throughout finishing in 40:37 and 40:38 respectively.
CAROLINE COASTAL TRAIL 10k
Treena Carder took part in the annual Caroline Coastal Trail, organised by Essex Trail Events. This popular self-navigating walk and run takes participants through the private grounds of Chigborough Farm and Fisheries near Maldon, Essex.
Treena completed the event in an impressive 1:05.
Well done to everyone who competed in the challenging conditions!
