MALTA HALF MARATHON
The Malta Half Marathon took place on Sunday, starting in Mdina and finishing in Sliema. Runners enjoyed scenic routes, sunshine, and strong spectator support. With much less rain than last year, HRRs Caroliena Cameron was pleased to return and finished in a solid time of 1:52:35.
TARPLEY 20 MILE
Two members of HRR participated in the Tarpley 20.2 miler also on Sunday, organised by Bury St Edmunds Pacers. Alastair Wilson completed the course in 2:35.52 and Don Wilson finished in 3:01.50. The race featured a challenging 20.2-mile route through Suffolk’s countryside, known for its undulating terrain. Runners faced a mix of conditions, with mild temperatures, cloud cover, and a light breeze, all of which contributed to the difficulty of the race. Don Wilson summed it up with a succinct review: “Knackering!”. Well done to Alastair and Don for their strong performances!
SMUGGLERS TRAIL
The Smugglers Trail 6.6-mile run in Hullbridge on Sunday offered a scenic and challenging course.  This was a self navigation trail race using a written route description, issued on the day. Treena Carder and Phil Jeffries ran together in 1:15.34.
Well done to all!
