LONDON MARATHON
The 2025 London Marathon saw impressive performances across the board, despite the heat. HRR had 6 there on Sunday enjoying the race and the crowds. Rachael Rising was first home for Halstead with a super strong 2:56.15. Karen Pickering, who had back surgery just four weeks ago and trained for only three, finished in 3:26:34—an absolutely incredible result given the circumstances. Keely Jordan, Tracy English, and Rachael Roughan, donning full Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle costumes, crossed the line together in 3:59:15, proving that running in style is just as important as running fast—even on a hot day. They looked brilliant! What makes it even more amazing… keely and Tracy ran Boston US marathon only 6 days earlier and Rachael ran Boston Uk marathon 2 weeks ago. These ladies are inspiring! A special mention goes to Keith Thorogood, who completed the race in 7:07 at 70 years old, despite battling a hip injury for weeks.
NORTHSTOWE HALF MARATHON
Elsewhere, Alistair Wilson ran the Northstow Half Marathon on Sunday. Runners ran through Northstowe’s evolving landscape of green spaces, modern architecture, and natural areas, passing historic Longstanton and wide-open countryside. Alistair smashed his personal best with a time of 1:28—a fantastic achievement!
MEC PRESENTATION TRAIL
Phil Jeffries ran the Mid Essex Casuals Presentation Trail run on Sunday. It was a 3.6 mile self navigating trail around Terling. He finished 2nd overall in 32.34. Great running Phil.
