The start of the summer holidays saw a very quiet weekend for racing… but HRR still had 5 runners sporting their club kit for various events.
PARKRUN TOURIST
Val Kerrison is holidaying at Wells Next the sea and completed Parkrun number 214 at Holkham park run on Saturday. A very impressive amount of park running… well done Val!
MARATHON MARVEL
Andy Wilmot ran marathons 835 and 836 this week at Suffolk running centre. Both marathons consisted of 4 out and back loops. On Tuesday he completed the marathon in 5:46 and on Saturday in 5:58. Having run 4 marathons in a fortnight, Andy is suffering considerably with his knees. Sending lots of positive thoughts his way and of course wishing him a very happy 79th birthday.
RIDLEY ROUND
The Ridley round is a 14 mile self navigational trail race which took place on Saturday. The route wound its way through beautiful rural countryside taking in the Essex Way and the Chelmer Valley and passed 5 former Ridley’s pubs! Runners are encouraged to stop for a beverage in each pub along the way! Keely Jordan and Steve May ran together crossing the line in 9th and 10th position overall. With time bonuses taken into account they finished in a time of 1:41 with keely taking 3rd place for the ladies. Perry James and Caroliena Cameron also ran together. Taking it easy, they had relaxed afternoon and with their time bonuses accounted for they finished in 2:43.
