WEEKEND RUNNING

SUFFOLK BACKYARD ULTRA The concept is simple, runners start on the hour every hour and have to run and complete a 4.167 mile trail route in that time. They must run the loop and be back ready to start the next loop or they are out of the race, the race continues until there is only one person who can [...]

BANK HOLIDAY

Another busy weekend for racing, we had two HRR in two of the Uks capital cities taking on very different challenges on Sunday and a team of 12 at an event closer to home on Monday. EDINBURGH HALF MARATHON Aidan Kelly headed to Scotland to take part in the Edinburgh half marathon on Sunday. Fast & flat, the Half Marathon [...]

SUNNY SUNDAY

Another sunshine filled Sunday made for warm racing conditions. STORT 5 AND 10 Now in its 39th year, the Stort 10 and 5 Mile takes place each May at Cammas Hall Farm on the outskirts of Hatfield Broad Oak. It is a popular trail race on private farmland across the Essex countryside. It offers a flat course, although the terrain [...]

HOT!

Oh wow!! What a scorcher! Where did that heat come from? Huge well done to all HRR racing this weekend! HALSTEAD MARATHON Our very own race. Fantastic turnout from HRR, friends and family to help put on another superb event. Hot and extremely hilly, not the easiest marathon to run, we had 14 taking on the challenge. Rachael Roughan was [...]

SUNSHINE!

The sun definitely had his hat on over the weekend and there were a number of HRR making the most of the beautiful weather. HARE AND TORTOISE SPRING VXV EVENT John Warne ran the Hare and Tortoise event on Saturday. It consisted of distance options of 5,10 and 15 miles with each lap being 5 miles. Predominately a trail, it [...]

APRIL SHOWERS

It rained all weekend! The weather was awful, but yet we still ran! NORFOLK MARATHON We thought Halstead was hilly!! Not compared to Norfolk! Taking place on Sunday, the Norfolk marathon was an extremely tough, hilly course but with the finish line overlooking Cromer Pier it did give runners a breathtaking view of the sea. Definitely worth it! Due to heavy [...]

LONDON!!

The London Marathon, was established in 1981 by Olympic steeplechase medallists Chris Brasher and John Disley. They were determined that the London Marathon would showcase the very best of the capital. They also declared the event would help people ‘to have fun, and provide some happiness and sense of achievement in a troubled world’. This was certainly the case on [...]

MANCHESTER MARATHON

What a weekend for HRR. A team of 24 runners plus support crew headed to Manchester to run the Manchester marathon and relay half marathon. Lots of highs and lots of laughs. A great time was had by all. A record number of runners took to the streets for the Manchester Marathon. More than 30,000 people took part in the UK's [...]

HARGRAVE 10K

Phil Jeffries and Treena Carder ran the Hargrave 10k Cross Country on Saturday. A gently undulating countryside route near Bury st Edmunds. The sunshine filled morning was deceptive and they were hit by a hail storm complete with thunder and lightning. They ran together and finished in 1:05.43.

LONG MILES

Some long miles being ran by many HRR at the moment. With lots training for spring marathons and half marathons and a few taking on some longer challenges this weekend. MALTA HALF MARATHON The Malta half Marathon takes place on a tiny Mediterranean island that is only 17 miles long and 9 miles wide. It is a predominantly downhill course [...]
