TURKEY TROT 2025

WINTER WANDERLUST 50k

HRR Men's Captain Matt Biggin capped off his racing season this past weekend at the challenging Winter Wanderlust 50k. MALAGA MARATHON

The Málaga Marathon delivered a fast, scenic city race along the Mediterranean, with a largely flat course through the historic center and seafront. Race conditions were ideal. Well done to Simon Miller, for proudly representing HRR. He completed his 20th marathon in a brilliant 4:10. A fantastic achievement and a great day of running in the Costa del Sol sunshine.

ESSEX VETS CROSS COUNTRY

The Essex Veterans Cross Country Champs took place in Epping Forest close to Chingford. There were three races, all using the same two lap course which measured 4.9 miles. FESTIVE RUNNING

HRR didn’t let the weather stop them this weekend. There were all sorts of training runs going on and a couple of Christmassy events taking place. HATFIELD 5

Luis Betancourt Canas had a brilliant result at the Hatfield 5 on Sunday November 30th. The race is known for its friendly atmosphere, and fast, flat terrain. Widely regarded as a PB-friendly course, it attracts runners aiming for strong late-season performances. It certainly didn’t disappoint for Luis. He finished in 32:11 taking 2 minutes off his previous PB. Fantastic running!

PUDDLES AND PB’s

Despite challenging weather, several of our runners were out racing and turning in fantastic performances. HADLEIGH 10 MILE AND 5 MILE Gary Wiles and Katie de Bourcier took on a rain-soaked, undulating course complete with plenty of large puddles. Gary was tackling the 10 mile event and delivered a strong run, finishing in 1:36:25, a new PB by 9 minutes. [...]

CROSS COUNTRY 25/26: HADLEIGH COUNTRY PARK

ESSEX CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE 7 hardy Halstead runners tackled a very challenging cross country course at Hadleigh Country Park, Essex. CROSS COUNTRY 25/26: BRENTWOOD

Sunday November 16th saw 20 Halstead Road Runners tackle a new XC course hosted by Springfield Striders at the Wild Forest Outdoor Activity Centre, Brentwood. Normally used by Nuclear Races for muddy obstacle course races, the venue gave runners a very challenging, muddy & slippy course with ditches to cross, logs to jump & large muddy puddles to get through.
