HRR were in action on Sunday at Southwold and Chelmsford, with runners taking on the half marathon and 10K distances in wet and windy conditions and delivering solid performances across the board.
SOUTHWOLD HALF MARATHON
Sunday’s Southwold Half Marathon was run in tough conditions, with rain and strong winds across the exposed coastal sections making it a real test of pacing and resilience.
Sam Wolton led the group home in 1:41:34 with a strong, controlled run.
It was a standout performance from Bec Gilroy who clocked 1:46:04 and knocked an impressive 9 minutes 46 seconds off her previous best.
Ryan Miller treated it as a training run but still secured a course PB in 1:52:10.
Sarah Waddington ran 1:57:45 to dip under two hours.
Sam Hillyard finished in 2:10:55, Paul Carter in 2:19:01 and Alice Ablitt 2:49:23.
CHELMSFORD HALF MARATHON
The Chelmsford races saw wet and windy conditions, with a flat, fast course that tested runners’ pacing and endurance across both the half marathon and 10K distances.
Andrew Livermore finished in 2:00:06, just six seconds outside the two-hour mark after a consistent effort throughout.
Amy Harmon ran 2:06:28, another steady performance over the half marathon distance.
CHELMSFORD 10K
Nathan McGregor raced the Chelmsford 10K as part of his half marathon training and came away with a new PB of 52:22, taking 1 minute 50 seconds off his previous best.
Well done to all!
