Ben Brown took on the Stort 30m Ultra this Sunday. He completed it in 4:43:37 coming 28th overall out of 119 competitors and 8th in his age group. Ross Kemble and Phil Jeffries ran Craig's Layer trail event 10m. They completed it in 1:46:52.
The Essex Trail Events Toppesfield 7m self navigated trail event took place on Sunday. The weather was good although a bit damp underfoot. The Ridley Round took place on 19th September. This is a 13 mile trail run which takes in five pubs. Several Halstead Road Runners took part in warm, sunny conditions. Ivan Filchev returned to his homeland of Bulgaria to compete in the Lionheart Triathlon on the 3rd September 2020 in Primorsko on the coast. The SVP50/100 took place this Saturday 15th August. This is a 50/100km ultra run from Newmarket (100km Start) or Sudbury (50km Start) to Brantham along the Stour Valley Path. Andy Wilmot has been running back to back marathons this weekend at the Suffolk Running Centre. On Saturday he completed in 5:02:00. A new running route has been established that follows the River Colne from its source to the sea.
