XC Relays @ Weald Country Park, Brentwood.
Saturday saw the running of the Essex cross country relays at Weald Park in Brentwood. On an unseasonably hot September day Halstead fielded 6 teams, 3 ladies & 3 men, over the 2 lap 6k course. The blazing sun and rock hard ground made the conditions much different to what is normally expected of cross country but the runners dealt brilliantly with what was laid out in front of them. It was good to see some new faces trying out the off road stuff for the first time, although this may not a true representation of what’s to come, and also some XC veterans getting back out ready for the upcoming season. Of course there was plenty of baked goods to be consumed at the end. Well done everyone!
